Ham Radio Training to the Officers of Indo Tibetan Boarder P

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India has set up the Centre for Disaster Management (CDM) at LBSNAA, Mussoorie for functioning as nodal institution to impart comprehensive training on disaster management with a special focus on the Incident Command System. The Centre is involved in training officers belonging to IAS and other civil services in Ham Radio as part of their other out door activities. The center was established and started functioning from Aug 2003.

After getting tremendous success in conduct of Ham Radio training to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police service and Other All India allied officers of 78th foundation course by the CDMH, Hyderabad, good response is coming from the other Academies like ITBP (Indo Tibetan Boarder police). A. Ramesh Babu VU2RDM and VSS Ramakrishna Prasad VU3NYD, both were deputed by the Relief Department of Andhra Pradesh Government for conducting the Ham Radio Training Programme to the officers of Indo Tibetan Boarder Police. Twenty officers have been deputed by the ITBP, Mussoorie and training programme have been inaugurated on April 16th and classes continued up to 10th June to these officers in the premises of IAS Academy, CDM building. Ham Radio Examination was conducted on 13th June. We are Happy to inform you all that recently results have been announced by of Wireless Planning and coordinating Officers of New Delhi. Out of 19, 15 Officers have been declared qualified in the examination.


With this new result the no. of qualified officers in the hill station of Mussoorie reached to 67. Among them already 11 staff members who have been trained by us, received Call sighs recently. We hope that Ham Radio will really makes, waves on the foot hills of in the coming days.
