Hi,
I am member of MIT Ham club, Manipal Karnataka, waiting for the exam, after a failure during previous exam. Yesterday while discussing we were also having doubts regarding the WPC amendment. Any body know what is happening there?

Hi All
I have contacted with Ranchi Monitoring Cell and they told me that the amendment will be applicable from 1st april 2010.
I have also contacted with vu2tkc Tapas Da, he also contacted with Kolkata Head Quarter in this regard and as per information, i got is as follows:-
1. Now there will be only two types of Grading system 1st - General Grade and 2nd- Restricted Grade.

2. The ASOC exam will be Multiple choice Objective type and The Morse test will be 8WPM.

3. The previously alloted Grade-2, Grade-1 and Advanced Grade will be treated as General Grade.

4. The Licence will be made for 20 years and Life Time (upto 80 Years).

If any OM know more kindly share there view in this forum.

Thanks for the information VU3KGL. According to new amendment, for restricted grade, Morse code is mandatory?

Hi OM
Thanks for viewing the forum.
As per your question the answer is "No". priviously alloted Grade-2(Restricted) is same as present amended Restricted Grade.
Meanwhile I am eagerly awaiting for the necessery documents regarding amendment from VU2TKC Tapas da who went to WPC Monitoring Cell Northern Headquater for getting document regarding amendment and they (Monitoring Cell) told him that necessery documents will be available in April 2010.
So please wait some time. When i received those document i will write in this forum.
