Dear friend

If you are a Radio Amateur then you have to know each & every thing regarding frequency plan and if you are not a Radio amateur then you need not to worry. Listen only the frequencies you are authorised for.

You can get the draft frequency plan by copy paste the link given below:

Dear Friend

If you are not a licensed Radio Amateur then please concentrate your mind only to listen Radio broadcast and FM transmission (88-108 MHz) only. It is a gentleman advice. Don't try to peep in any frequency spectrum. No one can tell you which frequency is allotted to which organisation. This record is maintained by WPC only.

It is my humble request to you pl do not ask such silly question in the forum.

Hi !
In Europe and North America , you could walk into a radio store and buy scanners to monitor airband , maritime or local emergency frequencies without any sort of license. I am not sure how these rules are set in India..so I cannot comment on that. Please do some research and see if this is legal in your country of residence.

Good luck !

1. In India it is NOT permitted to scan through any radio frequencies without due license. All bands which are available on a commercial radio (including 88-108Mhz) are open for general public (to listen to).
2. In India it is illegal to have devices like scanners. That is why you find shops NOT selling such devices at all.
3. Amatuer Radio Operators need to get a license, and along with the grade they are also allotted clearly defined frequency range in which they can Tx and Rx. The Act says that HAMS should also NOT record/or note down any communication which they chance to overhear ;).
4. Air Band (for Aviation Controls) is between 127.00Mhz and 136.00Mhz. Scanners for this frequency is available, but it is ILLEGAL in India. Remember two foreigners getting caught in New Delhi carrying such scanning devices?
5. Police frequencies are alloted by WPC and the Wireless Establishment of the Police forces (http://www.dcpw.nic.in/). These frequencies are generally not let known to public. There have been cases in which some people did listen to restricted channels, but that was after tampering with equipments (a case reported was fishermen in Kozhikode, Kerala received and transmitting on the district police channel).
