DDS v4.0 as External VFO for TS-520

Postby co6wyr » Wed Feb 12, 2014 1:42 am

Hello all friends from Cuba island it is my first post, thanks to a good friend in USA "WJ6C" i knew your dds´s projects, really good and cheaps, i have an old Kenwood TS-520SC but it internal VFO have some drift that really do not let me work as i want, i´d collect all components to home.brew an external VFO using DDS v4.0 it works very good, good signal level, a real good freq stability but i have one problem, the original external VFO for this radios work from 5.5 MHz to 5.0 MHz decreasing frequency but growing numbers in the analog screen. My question is how put the DDS to work in this conditions, that generate freq from 5.5 MHz to 5.0 MHZ and show me in the LSD screen some number from 0 to 500 or 5.000 to 5.5000, only to use it as reference frequency.
Will appreciate your help it is an old radio but work very good, thanks to all good friends of this forum de Amaurys CO6WYR in center of Cuba island.

Sorry about my English is not the best

Try to set negative IF frequency such as -5.5MHz, see documents with the DDS 4.0 for details.
