DDS 4.0 source code

Postby ik8xfr » Fri Oct 05, 2012 8:52 pm

Hallo !

i've made a dds v.4.0 and work really very fine, really a nice project!

i want to try to use it also for 50 and 70 mhz to make a ssb rtx, and also i want to try to use it with Drake 4 line to generate fixed frequencies to substitute crystals for optional bands.

Is there anyone that have the source code for pic1 and pic2? (or someone that have already try the experiments?)

Thanks and best regards.

Hi VU3CNS and all friends,

Dear VU3CNS, please receive my congratulations once again, for publishing the source code of the DDS VFO.
Not only it is an excemplary project, but it is also well written and commented. I think many radio amateurs will benefit from having the source code and add new functions to the DDS.

I am Yiannis, SV1MNE (ex SW1MNE) from Athens Greece. As I reported in an earlier post, I have build the DDS VFO v4 with a 4x4 matrix keyboard and a rotary encoder with integrated push button switch. Having now access to the source code I changed the key layout and functions in such a way that the is no need for other keys than the 4x4 matrix keyboard and the encoders switch. I gave a new subversion number (v 4.1) to this modification.

The new functions are:

1. Encoders switch: Changes Step
2. Key A: RIT, A=B
3. Key B: MODE, LOCK
4. Key C: VFO, SPLIT
5. Key D: MEM, SAVE, CAL

The CAL (Configuration) function is enabled if key D is pressed during power on.

To implemment the new key functions the following changes must be applied to the relevant section of the common.inc file:

#DEFINE SW_STEP_SIZE COL_2,ROW_2 ; Switch on Rotary Encoder .
#DEFINE SW_RIT COL_1,ROW_3 ; Key A
#DEFINE SW_SSB COL_1,ROW_4 ; Key B
#DEFINE SW_VFO COL_1,ROW_1 ; Key C
#DEFINE SW_MEM COL_1,ROW_2 ; Key D
#DEFINE SW_CAL COL_1,ROW_2 ; Key D (Pressed on Power on)
#DEFINE ENCODER_A COL_2,ROW_3 ; Rotary encoder pin A.
#DEFINE ENCODER_B COL_2,ROW_4 ; Rotary encoder pin B.

Thank you once again VU3CNS for developing and publishing this marvelous project!

Hi VU3CNS and all friends,

I am Yiannis, SW1MNE from Athens Greece. I have built DDS VFO v4 with a 4x4 matrix keyboard and a rotary encoder with integrated push button switch (Both bought from ebay).

Here are some pictures http://picasaweb.google.com/ygiannarakis/DDSVFO

I connected the fourth set of keys (a-d) to RA7 and the integrated push button to MEM switch, but I am not very satisfied with this arrangement.

I wonder if it is possible to change the MEM and VFO switch positions with those of STEP and CAL, so that SW2 is STEP, SW3 is CAL, SW6 is MEM and SW7 is VFO.

Hi
Now that the source code for pic1 and pic2 of the DDS 4 has been published
Has anyone ported out to a 1 pic chip ?

My new functions Wish list: 8O
Mode selection Button: AM FM USB LSB to show on display. with outputs
Signal (s meter) and rf output on the display (I have a 20 X 4 LCD).
Band selection Button: 160m,80m,40m,30m,20m,17m,15m,12m,10m,6m,4m (Bandpass Filters)
Rx att Button: off -10dB,-20dB,-30dB and +16dB(Preamp) to show on display. with outputs
Tx power Button: High-Low, to show on display. with outputs.

Can anyone help me with this project ?
TIA

Hi everyone.
Does someone please have the source code for DDS4.0 PIC 1 ?
I have constructed DDS 3xx a while back with great success and I am now building a general coverage RX (0-30Mhz , 10.7 IF). For this I will use bandswitching outputs as DDS4 and would also like to make some changes to PIC1 code. Also can anyone tell me what logic level to expect from selected band output ?
Thanks & 73's John
