9Mhz Roofing Filter

Postby ujjwaana » Thu Jan 03, 2013 4:02 pm

Hi All,
9MHz has been a bottle neck for all Homebrew Transceiver project, since my school days in 1990's till today. I called the BEL officials yesterday and they gave the usual reply that they have stopped producing the coveted filter.

Building Ladder filter is another uphill task of matching and selecting a few from a bunch and then calculations. I found a shop in Czech selling matched Xtl and Capacitor set for the 9Mhz filter

Costing 600 Czech Koruna (Rs 1600). Shipping it individually would be costly. If other want the crystals, we can save on shipping and may be some bulk discount.

On the sideline, if some one has the 9Mhz Filter for sale, please drop me a small PM.

Persuading e-bay seller to send to India is usually not a big problem, once you assured that you can give them instant feedback, as they are always paranoid about postal losses to India.

But pardon my ignorant self as I have been out of DIY/HAM for good 15 years. Are these Tiny XTL like filter directly replaceable for the much bigger XTL filters from BEL/German companies ??
How to get the unique LSB/USB Crystals ??

I wonder why not formalized and funded bodies NIAR Hyderabad etc order 200 of such XTLs from BEL and keep for future ?

Thanks you so much Mr Sarma for you suggestion. I definitely need to have an eyeball with you when I am in Hyderabad. Any suggestion for non-political HAM meetups in Bangalore I can hop in ??
