cud u tell me where u r located ??
im not so good at creating the circuits.. but good at constructing it if u cud help me with a circuit diagram .. the worst thing is tht i dont have any equipments for frequency measurment ...

im really not sure as to what that huff-puff method means.. neither ill be able to create tht LO myself.. plz lemme know if u have any circuit diagram on the websites which i can construct

Hi Amogh,

I had seen another news item regarding DRM from AIR Delhi. The skip distance is almost Zeroed-- meant that the programme is meant for delhi'iets only

hey the transmitter power is 250 kW & if the skip distance is 0 ..
even then i blive the transmitter shd be able to cover atlest 1500 to 2000 kms...
one of my friend in GOA is able to receive thes signals he can see the station ID and the station information,
the signal strength is exellent on Dream software but no sound..this was about 4 days back.. so by this time he might have succeeded getting the signal.. lemme check with him if it worked & ill update the topic
he is a HAM his name is Ronie (VU2ROE) .. if some one knows him..

Hey guys..
was in goa for last few days... met Ronie (VU2ROE)
& we listened to a DRM station of Radio Kuwait on april 9th at around 6:30 @ 13620 KHz
in the evening..
... it was awsome... superb sound quality..
ppl say tht the DRM audio on HF sounds as good as FM ...
but i claim it sounds near to CD quality audio ...
Way to go Ronie !!

There is a complete assembled DRM Converter, 455 to 12 kHz available in ebay. The seller claims that just you have to put this Board where 455 kHz is available. Then the Board will convert that into 12 kHz, thats all. Price of the converter is not too high. I think it is affordable for VU listeners.

But you need a computerised setup to listen DRM. Available free softwares are mentioned there.

I am also very keen to listen / monitor the DRM Trnasmission. For all your information AIR, Khampur, Delhi is running test transmission regularly (as per Khampur Station Engineer). But I have no DRM Receiving setup !!!

Let see if OM Rahulji (VU3WJM) or anyother can point out something positive from this information.

Link of the DRM Converter, 455 to 12 kHz is http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0107294369

It can be assembled at FAR LESS cost by using TA7358 as rightly suggested by RAHUL elsewhere in in this forum. TA7358is available for say Rs30/-

i shall come out with a pcb for the same. we may need 470KHz ceramic resonator to derive 467KHz oscillator.. this costs 10/- as got at Hyd.

Dear Sir,

GREAT OF YOU - IF FACT I WAS SEARCHING TO HAVE THIS DATA TO SHARE WITH SIMONE OF WWW.DRMRX.COM.
i was some how thinking that some of the transmissions were being beamed to Europe. and the list provided by you could only be supporting this feeling sir.

Incidentally please see the url listed below with spl ref to SDR-- appears it will be possible and cheap.

http://zao.jp/radio/sft66db2/index.php

here you can be able to see the circuit diagran of a Japanease design-- there is ' how to assemble "

ther is also software

please study and we will talk later sir

no news for long...

Postby desai_amogh » Tue Jun 29, 2010 11:28 am

Hello guys...

I had been busy with studies and work for couple of years now.

been seeing very less activity around DRM these days. India and Russia has completely adopted DRM as the technology for digital transmission in India. This seems to be a pretty interesting start.

Lets start this discussion again and see if we head to something concrete as now we have almost 3-4 stations targeting S Asia.

I have been getting a hard time finding a 470Khz filter to build a down-converter. My Degen mentioned below is down (front-end) due antenna static almost 2 years ago but still up with a Sony ICF 7600G (Thanks to Ronie VU2ROE).

Inputs awaited.

@Amogh,
Perhaps you mean the 2 pin 470KHz resonator and not three pin filter.
please clarify.
if you need 470KHz resonator , perhaps I can spare one.

The whole issue is , we cant sit around PC sound card to decode and give us the DRM audio
thus we need to search and be able to assemble a stand alone adopter for any normal radio enabling it receive DRM signals as they are introduced in various stations in the future.
I earnestly hope that some add on pcb would be sold in the near future, if not already one such has not arrived the major markets in India.
